The weather was so nice one afternoon, we decided to load up and go down to Zilker Park. This park is quite large and is kind of in the heart of downtown Austin. First and foremost, we wanted to take Tristan to ride the train since he loves trains and has actually never been on one. Well, the train was under construction and was set to open back up the VERY NEXT DAY. Oh well, we didn't tell him about it, we were just going to surprise him. Good thing we did this or else there would have been lots of tears. I still felt bad for him even though he didn't know what he was missing. We played on the playground and went down to the water to feed the ducks instead and those activities seemed to keep everyone happy. The ducks are so used to humans they'll come right up to you, especially when they know you have food. One took a nibble on my leg and another almost got Tristan but I was able to get in between them. He thought it was fun to throw bread at the ducks and see them swim towards the bite and swallow it down. It was nice to get outside in the cooler (read: 80-ish) weather.
