(November 1st, 2008) Genevieve is now half a year old! I can't believe how fast this first six months have passed. She's now sitting up unassisted so that is an achievement, however, she is regressing in the sleep department. Since her bout with pertussis, she has changed her habit of sleeping through the night for 10-12 hours straight, to waking multiple times throughout the night and eventually making it into our bed. The time of her getting to sleep in the big bed changes nightly depending on my level of exhaustion. Sometimes it happens the first time she wakes around 11:30 pm and sometimes it doesn't happen until 4:30 am. Funny thing, she doesn't seem nearly as tired during the day from this new schedule as I do... She's happy and smiley for the most part and lights right up when she sees Tristan. He's still very good about bringing her toys or letting me know that she's awake, crying, needs a snack (or "nack" in Tristan lingo). Genevieve always seems to need a "nack" when Tristan is actually hungry for one, what a coincidence.
In these pictures, Genevieve is modeling a beautiful white sweater with pink flower buttons, made especially for her by James' Godmother, Barbara Watt. Tristan was given a lovely blue version with cute owls on it when he was born and we will always treasure these wonderful, thoughtful, handmade gifts!
Of course, I had to include the cute pictures of her getting annoyed with me and reaching her cute-picture-taking limit! You can really see her blue eyes here, but we're not holding our breath. Apparently Renae's eyes were blue until she was about five and ended up turning brown anyway. Tristan's eyes didn't officially turn brown until a week after he turned two, so only time will tell if Genevieve gets to keep these beauties. I sure hope so since both James and my Dad were given pretty blue eyes. That trait needs to be passed down to someone in the family.
