Moms and tots holiday party

We went to a moms and tots party today and had lots of fun. When we were loading up to leave this morning Tristan asked if we were going to see Santa which I thought was funny. He still doesn’t get that Santa will be coming to our house to leave goodies. I guess he just thinks that we will go visit him periodically just to say "hi"…

Genevieve got to hang out on the floor with some infant buddies and Tristan got to run around with other toddlers. The “big” kids (toddlers) also got to decorate cookies. The host mom made icing that could be applied to cookies with paint brushes. I thought this was such a cool idea! This may have been around for a long time, but I’m just starting to get introduced to activities and art projects of this sort for Tristan. We do coloring, cooking, sidewalk chalk and other stuff, but decorating cookies is new. I think he put about 3 individual sprinkles on each of his cookies. Tristan got to eat two cookies at the party and we brought one home for Daddy. Tristan was certainly sad for the party to be over and as we were walking to the car he was pointing at all the neighbors’ houses, wanting to go to their parties too. Another thing to note is that as I was loading all of our goodies into the car, Tristan freaked out because he thought I was going to leave Genevieve. “No mommy, baby, baby mommy!” Of course, we didn’t leave anyone behind. I was glad he didn’t WANT me to leave her, yet, anyway!
