(James:) I think that every boy has a fascination with shaving. My dad shaved every morning before he went to work. He was almost always clean shaven when I was a kid. When I was in my late 20's my father grew a full beard, stating that he was just tired of shaving so much. Even more recently my dad will go a few days without shaving. I've had my goatee for such a long time that I can't remember what I looked like without it. Most all of my buddies have facial hair, except for one of my friends that has no hair on his body at all.
It was fun to share this "fascinating" moment with Tristan. Like the "boys" on Queer Eye say, "Always shave when your face is exfoliated".
(Amber:) I wanted to document some of the cute phrases Tristan is using right now, so I don't forget this fun time. You never know what he's going to throw at you and that's part of the fun.
*"No thanks," was one of the first sayings that surprised us. It wasn't a big deal when he used it to decline snacks, drinks, extra blankets, etc., but it was funny when we asked him if he wanted to try to go potty on the potty chair and he returned a very matter-of-fact, "no thanks." Great, this potty training thing may take a while...
*It was also funny when we told him it was time for bed one night and he said, "that's not a good idea, Mommy."
*For snack he wanted some strawberries and I told him that I didn't think we had any and he answered with, "probably right, Mommy." My jaw dropped - so funny.
