After admiring all of the giant kites, creative kites, smallest kites, etc. we walked over to the little train station and we finally were able to let Tristan ride a train! We've tried before but the train was out of commission for a while due to maintenance. We bought our tickets and had some time before the next departure so we picked a park bench and broke out all the drinks and snacks that I'd packed for the day. Tristan was so excited that we were riding the train and still did an amazing job being patient while we waited. After departing the station, we saw all sorts of things throughout the park: ducks and canoes down in the water, we went under a bridge and over another one, we saw some live music (or at least a lone entertainer), more kites...
Then, it was time to get the wiggles out running around the playground. The firetruck was a big hit and Tristan liked driving it as well as giving it gas and new tires, because you know that's what Lightning McQueen does (CARS the movie)! Genevieve also enjoyed crawling around and spending time on the swings. When everyone seemed tired, we headed back to the shuttle area. The wait was much longer to go home, but it still seemed to be managed well and it was a nice day so I don't think anyone minded.
