I have a hard time seeing the resemblance of my kids, to other people. It's obvious that Tristan looks more like me than James, because of his dark eyes and dark hair. If you're talking about actual features though, it's hard for me to see. Everyone says Genevieve looks just like James, but I don't see it. I don't think she looks like either one of us, nor does she look like Tristan. She looks like no one but herself, to me.
But, someone recently called my attention to a resemblance that I never saw before this one particular photograph. A good friend from my Jr. High and High School years, Stacie, saw my pictures on FB (that's Facebook, for those that don't know) and commented that Tristan looked just like my brother. Huh. I never considered that and I didn't see it at the time. Then this picture came along and it is Tristan totally making one of my brother's expressions! I don't see it on a daily basis, but for this one moment, I see the similarity.
My Dad had a couple expressions that were totally from my Grandma. I always thought it was neat when I got to see that little glimpse of my Grandma in him, and visa versa.
