We spent a weekend in Port Aransas for the wedding of good friends, Shelly and Nathan. There was a rather large group that made the trip and we all stayed at the same hotel. Actually, I think our group filled all the rooms of the entire place, which was very cool. In between activities, doors were open and people were hanging out on the porches because everyone knew everyone. We took the play'n'play for Genevieve to sleep in and ended up pushing two chairs together to make the perfect bed for Tristan. Did you notice that his "birdies" also made the trip? Yep, we take them everywhere.
There will be pictures from the actual wedding in the next post, but first some pictures from the beach and other fun stuff. We visited the aquarium where James and Tristan got to touch sting rays and we saw a dolphin show and we also spent time touring the retired aircraft carrier, the USS Lexington. Both places were fun, but our first day at the Lexington felt a bit rushed, so we went back the next day so James and I could soak up some more history. It's very humbling to walk, crawl, climb through spaces that the brave men and women that serve our country once walked, crawled and climbed through. Pretty much, our weekend was perfect!
