A friend of mine recently posted about how important it is for us mothers to put down the camera and get into the pictures with our children once in a while. She talked about how most of us don't like pictures of ourselves because we have some weight to lose, we're having a bad hair day and the other multitude of reasons why we avoid being captured by the memory-saving devices. Truth is, our children don't care what we look like, they love us anyway. The post really hit home with me and so I've decided to put a couple pictures up of Tristan and me. Of course, it was hot and I would have liked a shower, my clothes are not picture-worthy and there are other things I can find wrong about these shots. But, my child loves me unconditionally and I love him unconditionally, and more than I ever could have imagined. So, here are some pictures that include "the Mommy."
I got him to take a couple more nice shots for us, after a brief intermission and picture-taking session of his own. He looks so intrigued. When I handed the camera over, it was pure excitement!
