Sprinkler park and the first swim

We went to the sprinkler park downtown by the city coliseum one morning and Tristan had a lot of fun running around. He was confused at first when all the water would disappear but it only took a couple of rotations of the sprinkler pattern for him to understand that it would come back and then come from every other sprinkler, then get higher and lower, etc. We had our snack on one of the big boulders and I included a picture of how Genevieve spent her time at the park – asleep, strapped to me in the bjorn. We left the park around 11am, which was perfect because that's about when bigger kids started getting there and it started to get busy. After getting cleaned up and changing clothes, Tristan was asleep within five minutes of getting back in the car to go home!

Genevieve also experienced her first swim this week. She wasn’t too crazy about it at first, but once she was in her boat it didn’t take long for her to calm down and enjoy the water. Since then, she’s been in the pool several times and seems to enjoy lounging in her boat watching everything around her – her brother, Mommy, Daddy, the trees, the birds, there’s so much to look at!

When Genevieve was born, my mom got us a cute “It’s a Girl” balloon. It was huge and when you tugged on the string it would play the song “Baby face, you’ve got the cutest little baby face…” Well, it lasted for two and half months which is surprising considering Tristan would constantly run around tugging on the string and listening to the song. It was certainly fun and it was a bit sad when our balloon friend lost all of its helium and had to make an exit. Thanks Grandma for the special balloon!
