Happy 4th of July!

We started our morning by decorating the stroller and participating in our neighborhood's 4th of July parade. Seeing the other strollers, wagons, and bikes decorated made us realize that we needed to really step up the creative factor for next year. After the parade, we went home to take naps and then back to our neighborhood park for fun on the playscape, the bouncy castle and hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch.

That evening we attended a party at our friend Anne-Marie's house. After dinner and some visiting, the whole group walked down to Anne-Marie's neighborhood park to enjoy an awesome display of fireworks, or boom-boom's, as Tristan calls them. During the fireworks Tristan made the rounds from Daddy's lap to Mommy's lap to sitting on the blanket with Anne-Marie and George the dog, and then finally to laying down on Shelly's knee. Tristan was having so much fun with George at the house and once we started watching the fireworks he'd say "Look Doggy, boom-boom" and try to lift George's chin towards the sky so he could see the pretty fireworks. Eventually George decided he didn't like the fireworks as much as Tristan did and turned his back on the display. Most dogs wouldn't have sat so nicely during fireworks so, yay George! Tristan was definitely tuckered out by the end of the night. Nana Karen held Genevieve during the fireworks and she also seemed amazed and very content with the show.

The next day we went over to Gran and Grampie's to continue the celebration and to hear all about their most recent trip.
