On the first day of 2009, Genevieve turned eight months old and wanted to show off her cute giraffe socks! Happy New Year!
Due to the holidays, teething and appointments getting rescheduled, our official 6-month-checkup was delayed until now. I was trying to take her to the doctor while Tristan was in school because I knew it was time for more shots. Well, the doctor's office called and rescheduled for the second time and there weren't any openings on any day before 2pm unless we waited two more months. That was a bit hard for me to believe, but whatever. All three of us went and it was almost as hard on Tristan as it was for Genevieve. He kept telling the nurse to "be nice" (to) "my baby!" His concern was cute but I felt bad that he was so distressed over it. I tried to warn/prep him about how the baby was going to cry before we even arrived but that didn't go far in the heat of the moment. Other than the shots though, it was a great appointment. Tristan sat nicely and read books and loved it when the doctor was using her "tools" to see into Genevieve's ears and such. Genevieve is growing like a weed and now weighs 18 pounds and is 28 inches tall! She's also become a crawling machine. She can go pretty fast, especially when she's heading for the kitchen or somewhere she knows she's not supposed to go. She'll look back at you with her big, cute eyes, then turn forward and make a beeline for her preferred destination while giggling wildly. It's way cute but I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come!
