Genevieve was sporting the outfit from Nana Karen and looking good in her headband. I caught this before she was able to pull it off of her head.
Probably every parent plays a similar game to what we call "Tootie pillow." It entails capturing a little boy named Tootie, laying on him and pretending to be asleep. We alternate pretending to snore and wiggling and saying, "wow, this pillow sure is comfortable!" It cracks him up! And, it cracks us up to watch his reaction. There's always a whole session of rough and tumble play on the floor that starts out in this way. Some stuff that James does makes me nervous to watch, as a mother, but I've read in more places than one that this rough "daddy play" is very important to kids' development. So, I try to smile and nod when Tristan is giggling because he's being swung around by his foot! Eek!
Tristan can now reach up and open kitchen drawers and he knows right where the koozies are. Most of the time if we have a koozie, he wants one too. On this particular day I guess he wanted koozies too, but not for his drink. It must be the style these days, to wear koozies on your feet. I remember a very short fad in elementary school where wearing a 45 (that's a record, people) around your ponytail or a cassetty tape in your hair was cool. He's only two and already he's a trendsetter!
Renae got the honor of holding a sweet, sleeping baby!
